Celebrate the Holidays Downtown with a Parade, Lights, and FREE Family Events
The 48th Annual Valenti Thanksgiving Parade, takes place Saturday morning at 10 a.m., November 19th. The parade starts at the High School and makes its way up North Avenue to Main Street.
On Thursday, Dec. 1, at 5:00 p.m. at Memorial Plaza, join us for the traditional City/Chamber Holiday Lighting Ceremony celebrating Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanza. Santa Claus will make a special guest appearance.
On Saturday, December 3rd join us for our FREE BID Make a Gift Fair at the New Rochelle Library from 12:30 –2:30 p.m. For more events click here.
Keeping with the spirit of the season, have your children help the New Rochelle Girl Scouts and FunFuzion support the Hope Food Pantry of New Rochelle by donating to their Cereal and Canned Food Drive.

Learn about your Community, Come Downtown
The New Rochelle Walk of Fame has been installed Downtown. Located along the Library Green pathway The Walk of Fame presents a micro history of America as reflected in the lives of New Rochelle’s famous sons and daughters, representing the arts, business, politics, education, the media, entertainment and sports. The Walk of Fame was created and funded by former resident and historian Roderick Kennedy Jr., working in partnership with the Downtown BID, the New Rochelle Department of Parks and Recreation and City Historian Barbara Davis.
The New Rochelle Walk of Fame is part of the New Rochelle BID’s ongoing efforts to preserve and promote our history and Downtown where New Rochelle’s past, present and future come together. Other initiatives include:

Ring in 2012 with your
Kids Downtown
Last year, BID Family Days joined New Roc City to offer 1,000 revelers the best Family New Year event in Westchester – Ring in the New Year at Noon at New Roc. Check out the video! Once again Downtown and New Roc City will be the destination for young families to celebrate the arrival of 2012.
We will be ringing in 2012 at New Roc starting 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 31st with face painting, arts and crafts, martial arts and sports demonstrations, snacks, clowns, games and more.
Kids can join their family and renowned radio personality Jimmy Fink of 107.1 The Peak as he rings in the New Year especially for them with the Countdown to Noon complete with the thrilling release of thousands of festive, brightly-colored balloons.
