Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution Orchestra

Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution Orchestra, a 12-piece group that blends New Orleans party music, soul, and secular gospel will perform a free Mardi Gras celebration concert at the New Rochelle Public Library on Sunday, February 21, at 3:00 pm. The New York City-based musicians, decked out in their finest whites (accented with the appropriate gold, purple and green of Mardi Gras), include a three-piece horn section (the Shepherds of the Wind), the gospel choir (the Voices of Reason), and a rhythm section (the Guardians of the Groove), “laying it down” for vocalist Brother Joscephus, who sings about “the pain, joy and wisdom that is in his heart.”

Since the release of its first recording in February, 2009, the band has already shared the stage with New Orleans stalwarts such as Trombone Shorty, the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars and Eric Lindell, and has sold out legendary venues such as the Highline Ballroom and BB King’s. They have also delighted crowds at order festivals in Burlington, Vermont, Boston, Long Island,  Philadelphia, Dewey Beach, Delaware, Winston-Salem and Asheville, North Carolina,  Atlanta, Birmingham and New Orleans.

The concert is a BID Family Day event, made possible by the New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District. Suggested donation: $2.00; children 12 and under: free.
