April 18, 2017 At R Café, Many A Customer’s Cup of Tea is, Well, Tea Guava ginger tea is a newcomer at R Café & Tea shop, that impossibly cozy French-themed spot on Huguenot Street, but it’s already the champion of teas and herbal infusions.
That’s the word from John Reverol, who opened the shop at 302 Huguenot Street in April 2011. In addition to coffees, cappuccino and something called a “dirty chai latte,” Mr. Reverol offers 19 types of tea – and they are gaining popularity.
None other so much as the guava ginger, which Reverol introduced just last fall.
“We go through pounds of the guava ginger every month,” Mr. Reverol said.

July 31, 2009 The Arts Take Hold In Downtown New Rochelle New Rochelle’s emerging downtown arts district is being introduced to the public on Thursday, August 6th from 4:00 to 9:00 PM during the New Rochelle BID’s first Downtown ArtWalk. Ralph DiBart, Executive Director of the BID stated, “Downtown New Rochelle is becoming an attractive center for artists, dance studios, music, film and galleries. We hope to introduce many of these arts to the public during our first ArtWalk. We will also and celebrate the opening of BID Gallery 542, an art gallery in the former New Rochelle Trust Building at 542 Main Street. The space has been loaned to the BID by Cornell Pace Inc. Additional ArtWalks are scheduled for the Fall.”

September 27, 2007 Queen City of the Sound polishes her crown On the second floor of 565 Main St. in downtown New Rochelle, construction of two residential lofts is ongoing in a space that has been vacant for more than 10 years. The future lofts sit above Talner Jewelers, a longtime city business. Owner Albert Tarantino, a lifelong New Rochelle resident, believes there is a market for the live-and-work lofts he is creating, scheduled to be finished in October. By utilizing loan programs offered by the city’s business improvement district (BID), he said, “It was a no-brainer to do this.” The lofts are the latest in a long line of downtown redevelopment projects spurred by the BID’s various loan programs. “One of the reasons we’re successful is because of the BID,” Tarantino said.
