The first wireless computer information kiosk at any train station serving Metro-North has just been installed in New Rochelle by the BID. Working with a grant from Metro-North, the BID designed the touch screen kiosk to allow commuters to access BID, Metro-North, Amtrak, and City of New Rochelle web sites. While waiting for their trains commuters will now be able to apply for City parking permits, make travel plans, as well as locate a business or restaurant, learn about cultural events, or check on news about downtown. In addition, the train station is now a hotspot, part of the BID WiFi free downtown network, the first in the Hudson Valley.
