“BID Downtown Showcase” features 5 designers
New Rochelle BID will present a “Downtown Showcase” featuring five New Rochelle interior designers and products from more than twenty-five downtown businesses. The painters have finished (generously donated by Von Mach Enterprises Inc.) and the vision for the two and three bedroom apartments with towering views at Avalon on the Sound East is taking shape. The designers Michelle Sanchez Boyce, Venera Evanko, Susan Simone Halliburton, Timothy McVey and Chenoa Maxwell are using merchandise exclusively from businesses within the BID district.
The showcase opens to the public starting with ticket holders to the House Tour on October 25th when the apartments are featured in the 12th Annual Accent on New Rochelle House Tour to benefit the Solomon Katz Breast Center at Sound Shore Medical Center.
Special thanks to our Chair people for helping to make this event possible: Candice Denslow, Consign It on Main; Tom Fahey, TF Andrew Furniture/Carpet One; Frederick von Mach, Von Mack Enterprises Inc. and Louis Vaccaro, The Curtain Shop and General Store. More on the Downtown Showcase»

Jennifer Rock and Jason Buono both grew up and met each other in New Rochelle. Their families and many of their friends also live in New Rochelle. Jennifer returned to her alma mater as a teacher at the New Rochelle Middle School while Jason became one of New Rochelle’s finest, a detective with the New Rochelle Police Department. When Jennifer needed window treatments for her new condo she of course headed to Main Street and the Curtain Shop. Given her and Jason’s New Rochelle roots and work, when they walk along Main Street they always meet people they know.
As lifelong residents we have always known about the Curtain Shop but it was only with my new condo that I was able to really take advantage of their full selection of window treatments and draperies. I had been looking all over for blinds that pulled down from the top, rather than up from the bottom, since I needed privacy but did not want to lose the light. At the Curtain Shop we were impressed with the range of choices and pleased with the prices and quality... For full review and 10% Off Coupon
