Another great art event in Downtown New Rochelle!
February 28 to April 4th
Reverol & Co. Contemporary Art is pleased to present “Drawing, Movement, Language, and Environment,” an exhibit of a series of ongoing and recent works by Emily Cappa, on view from February 28, 2013 through April 4, 2013.
Emily is an emerging contemporary artist living and working in Boston, Massachusetts. She obtained her Master of Fine Arts and Media in 2011 from Donau-Universitat Krems in Berlin, Germany + New York City + Krems, Austria. She also holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts and Sculpture from the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut.
Emily’s subject matter can be interpreted as recording movement and time and then translating it into a mesmerizing language that can be interpreted in different ways. The science, precision, and technique applied to every ink dot in her work are mind blowing.
Her art -- in her own words:
“Starting in February 2008 and still presently executed each day; I began documenting my travels to create a draw shape to commemorate the day. The series is appropriately titled Every Destination in One Day Connected From Each Location in Consecutive Order. As a result, I have become overly conscious of my actions and the impact every movement has on the day''s final result”.
Emily Cappa received the Estelle Hartman Sculpture Award and several scholarships, including the Anna Ball Pierce and Dorothy N. Lotstein Scholarship.
