What: The first day of Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, will be celebrated with magical sounds, movement and traditions.
1:30 – 2:45 pm: Families can paint clay pots called diyas, in the library’s meeting room.
3:00 pm: A performance by Liza Joseph, a classical Bharatanatyam dancer, will depict an
ancient folk tale and other traditional movements, in the Ossie Davis Theater,

The free event is one in the series, “BID Family Days Go Global for the 325th Anniversary!” An initiative of the New Rochelle Downtown BID (Business Improvement District), the “BID Family Day” program is a partnership with the New Rochelle Public Library, the City School District and PTA Council, and the Department of Parks & Recreation.
