Who Knew? Upstairs at The Curtain Shop

Don’t let its name fool you. Yes, The Curtain Shop has a huge variety
of window treatments, but the popular downtown store should probably
be called The Bedding Bathroom Accessories Decorative Accents
Housewares Gifts Shop.

Walk inside and find blankets, towels, shower curtains and other
necessities for apartment dwellers. But it takes a stroll — up the stairs
to the store’s second floor — to discover the Curtain Shop’s other identity.

We’re talking seat cushions. Wine bottle stoppers. Colorful pot
holders. Seasonal holiday decorations. Storage bins. Glassware.
Cookie cutters, for crying out loud.

From the practical — need a broom and dust pan? An iron or
blender? Maybe a Rachel Ray set of pots? — to the unexpected, such as a Pekinese throw pillow or wall plaque declaring “I like to
cook with wine. Sometimes I even put it in my food,” the second
floor of The Curtain Shop is stocked with need-to-have-nows and never-knew-I-wanted-it-until-I-saw-its.
