Retro Fitness

Michelle Sullivan, a Larchmont resident is a big fan of Retro Fitness New Rochelle. As a busy mother of three children, ages one through five, she needs a fitness club that can accommodate her very hectic schedule. She has been a Larchmont resident for 18 years, originally hailing from Bronx, N.Y. She is an active member of the PTA, and enjoys raising awareness for a variety of worthy causes such as Autism, ADHD and Breast Cancer.

Like most people I know, to stay fit and healthy I need to work out regularly.  However, in order to get me into the gym on a regular basis, I need a health club that meets my standards for equipment, convenience, cleanliness, staffing, an inviting setting, and the two most important qualities, affordable prices and hours that accommodate the hectic schedule of an active mom with three children. 

I've been a member of several gyms in the past and no other facility has accommodated all my needs quite like Retro Fitness in downtown New Rochelle. As a result, I find I am going to Retro Fitness habitually which is the whole purpose of joining a gym.

First of all, Retro Fitness is filled with professional equipment from treadmills, to stationary bikes to free weights by leading manufacturers such as Life Fitness, Hammer Strength and Intek. In fact Retro Fitness has all the same equipment that I've used in other gyms that are triple the monthly fee.  At $19.99 a month I can't believe I get so much.

On the days I'm feeling a little less motivated, I go into the Cardio Theater.  I hop on a treadmill, get engrossed in whatever movie is on, and before I know it I've completed over an hour of cardio!  It’s phenomenal! The equipment is well maintained and I seldom have to wait to start exercising. The retro music is easy on the ears and gets me in the spirit for a good cardio vascular workout.

The convenience is not just in the gym, but also getting to the gym. It is centrally located on North Avenue in downtown New Rochelle right next to a municipal parking lot where I can always find a parking space.  After my workout, I can even run an errand or stop by the New Rochelle Public Library without moving my car. And the most convenient thing that helps me get to the gym regularly is child care. That’s right, to top it all off, Retro Fitness offers child care which is completely free!  I bring my three young children with me and the staff takes wonderful care of them.  My kids enjoy it so much they fight with me when it’s time to leave!  Fitting the gym into my hectic schedule used to be quite a challenge, but when I'm able to bring my kids with me it's a breeze!

And talking about the staff, they’re great. They make coming inviting and friendly, and are always available when you need them to explain how best to use a price of equipment.  Mario Bordenga sets the standard for his staff for helpfulness and congeniality and he seems to always be there. Retro Fitness even offers a range of group classes as part of the low monthly membership. The locker rooms are neat and organized, and there are always plenty of lockers available.  Since I love a refreshing health drink after a good workout, it’s great that the juice bar is very inviting, and the protein shakes are absolutely delicious. They always hit the spot! 

I am a demanding client and the reasons Retro Fitness has won my consumer  loyalty --- equipment, convenience, cleanliness, staffing, price and accommodating my hectic schedule --- explains its rapid success as a growing heath club chain. Founded in only 2004 by entrepreneur Eric Casaburi, Retro Fitness has already grown into a national fitness system with 60-plus gyms in 10 states, more than 100 gyms in its development pipeline, and plans for 300 gyms in the next three years.

Retro Fitness is absolutely fantastic. It offers more useful amenities than any of the other gyms around at a super reasonable price.  None of the other gyms I'd visited in this area held up to my standards, until Retro Fitness came along and swept me off my feet.  Retro Fitness has truly raised the bar for fitness facilities, and I am proud to be a member there.

And did I tell you I get all this for only $19.95 per month?
