Ok Soon Yoon Artist Ok Soon Yoon is a South Korean artist, who enjoyed great success in her native country. She is now residing in New York City. She has had 21 solo exhibitions and over 200 group exhibitions. The city of Daegu and Pohang in South Korea commissioned large scale works from her. She participated in the Paris Mac 2000 Art Fair, had a solo exhibition at the Kyoto Art Museum in Japan, and was invited by the Los Angeles Simonson Gallery as one of the best three Seoul artists. She was director of the private Woobang Art museum in Daegu for 10 years and lectured at the Yeungnam University in Daegu. Ok Soon Yoon’s Art Previously, before coming to the US, OK Soon Yoon expressed in her paintings the fundamental elements of Korean philosophy, which are water, earth, wind and fire, in successive series on canvas and paper using oriental paint. Nature provided Ok Soon with a rich, timeless source of material, which created the images that reflected the eternal forces that shaped the earth into its present form and will continue to do so in eternity, Since coming to the US, Ms. Yoon’s art has been evolving, including some abstract figurative elements, faces, script and numbers, representing the passage of time.
