Marcelo Pablo Pittari Painter
Marcelo Pablo Pittari, Painter born in 1970, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1996 he began studying at Escuela Municipal de Diseno in Buenos Aires. In 2000 he moved to Brooklyn, New York. 2002 to 2005, he started his education in drawing and anatomy at the School of Visual Arts under the training of Betty Tompkins, Andrew Gerndt and Steven Gaffney.
He continued his education in drawing and painting after 2005 at the studio atelier of Andrew Reiss in Park Slope, Brooklyn and at The Art Student League of New York, working with Ephraim Rubenstein, Costa Vavagiakis, Frank Porcu and Michael Grimaldi. It was there that he exhibited as student and where he has been the recipient of Merit scholarship and awards.
I paint because it makes me happy; When I work with my paintings I’m enjoying of whatever may be desire. The beginning of my portraits is by understanding of the environment and by doing a very careful graphite drawings and studies.
When I get into my work, there is a process of combining and mixing my pigments base in a perception and feeling that go from inside out and making the physical world become only dark and light. I work with oil base pigments because allowed me to make work in a long period of time and mentally in a constant action of push and pull, positives and negatives until find the balance.
