2014 BID Music on the Green!

(In the event of rain, the concert moves indoors to the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library, on a first-come, first-served basis to the capacity of the 138-seat theater, beginning at 6:45 pm.)

July 17                The Kootz
The Kootz2.jpgThis group of "Jersey guys" started in the 90's as a jamming group, and then morphed into the current performers of classic rock, pop, soul and blues.  Covering the spectrum - Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones, Otis Redding, Jackson Browne, Grateful Dead, and many more -  this band puts together favorite rock songs with their own distinctive sound and collective passion. They play over 250 shows a year all over New Jersey and the tri-state area, in rock clubs, resorts, biker bars, bistros, coffee houses – but this is their first time rockin’ New Rochelle.

Funk That Music, led by drummer Brent Williams, is returning for another fabulous show that is guaranteed to move you.  the souldwill let loose with all the styles – and more.  Funk That is a fresh exciting group of musicians that have been performing throughout the tri-state area for years. Brent Williams is a versatile drummer With 30 plus years of experience, including gigs with The Main Ingredient, The Weather Girls, Curtis Mayfield, The Platters, Phyllis Hyman, Sara Dash, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes – to name just a few.

July 31                Grupo Latin Vibe
Grupo-Latin--Vibe.jpgThis premier New York City salsa jazz band brings a high powered energy show to every band stand. Founded by Anibal Tito Rivera, congero, lead vocals, arranger, composer and Tom Mattioli, vibraphonist, arranger, jazz virtuoso, chorus, the band has grown to seven fabulous musicians who perform an irresistible groove.  Put on your dancing shoes – this band is one of the most popular among salsa and meringue dancers in the Metropolitan area!.
