For the 9th year in a row, New Roc City hosted a festive party for kids to celebrate the new year. “Ring in the New Year at Noon” has become an annual tradition at New Roc City for kids ages 2 – 10. Held in the atrium at 33 Le Count Place in New Rochelle, more than 3,000 balloons were dropped from above to the delight of the 1,500 kids and parents who attended from across Westchester and the surrounding area.
This year the event supported the New Rochelle Public Library Foundation through a $10 donation per family of four. Board members Christina Selin and Dr. Cheryl Archbald were on hand to accept the donation of $3,500 at the event.
"The New Rochelle Public Library Foundation (NRPL Foundation) is grateful to the organizers of 2018 Ring in the New Year at Noon for designating us as the beneficiary of this joyful event. The Foundation’s fundraising helps keep the Library up-to-date and vibrant to meet the diverse needs of our community. We had a wonderful time at the event, meeting the children and helping them decorate their Happy New Year crowns. It was an exciting way to celebrate the New Year and kick off our 25th Anniversary year,” said Christina Selin, President, NRPL Foundation.
